Right in the heart of Basel, on Barfüsserplatz, our cosy Kääs Beizli awaits you. In our lovingly decorated, heated chalet-style restaurant, Rita and Jean-Luc will welcome you with warmth and a smile. The inviting atmosphere and the aroma of raclette and fondue from Basler Wirt’s Huus is the perfect place to enjoy cold winter days.
Here you can enjoy raclette in a typical chalet atmosphere as a single portion or, if you are very hungry, à discrétion. As a starter we can recommend our hearty Beizli-Plättli. Fancy a fondue? You’ll find that here too – traditional and cosy. Thanks to its central location on Barfüsserplatz, our Kääs Beizli is the perfect place to warm up after a stroll through the city, during a visit to the Basel Autumn Fair or the Christmas market. Just thirsty? Our mulled wine hut with its bar tables is the perfect place for a Barfi aperitif and the ideal after-work meeting place.

Mulled Wine Shack Hours:
Sunday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Cosy atmosphere at Kääs Beizli
Our Kääs Beizli offers space for cosy hours with friends and family, but also for group events such as Christmas dinners, company parties or private events. Outside, a small seating area and a nail peg add extra fun and atmosphere. Inside, you’ll be welcomed by a warm, rustic chalet vibe filled with cheese, hospitality, and winter charm.
